We have a detailed Business Continuation Plan which includes our telephony services, backup power, central office switching point, backup switching equipment and geographically diverse centers. Hamilton is in a position to ensure that inbound 800 traffic will experience minimal downtime as a result of network or switching failure.
At the contact centers, Hamilton's main telephone switches (ACDs) have an 8-hour battery backup, maintaining ACD life until alternate power is activated. In the case of an extended power loss, or a catastrophic event in one particular Hamilton site, we will use generator power or re-route all calls to other Hamilton sites, which also have Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS).
